UNC-Greensboro Collegiate Entrepreneurs Visit C12 Piedmont Triad

GREENSBORO, NC (May 11, 2012) - C12 Piedmont Triad hosted a reception on the evening of April 24, 2012, for members of UNC-Greensboro's Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (C.E.O.). The reception was hosted by C12 Piedmont Triad member Brad Thompson, CEO of Columbia Forest Products, a Greensboro-based global plywood and hardwood veneer manufacturer.

Janet Ward Black of Greensboro-based Ward Black Law, and a seven-year C12 Piedmont Triad member, helped facilitate this opportunity for these future business men and women.

The reception gave students an opportunity to hear C12 members and C12 Piedmont Triad Chair Steve Andrews share valuable lessons from decades of business experience. One C.E.O. student member appreciated C12's emphasis on diverse marketplace experience alongside the shared goal of ministry in business: "I enjoyed the variety of business backgrounds represented and the opportunity to learn how they are all able to run Christ-centered businesses."

C.E.O. faculty advisor Justin Streuli found the discussion valuable for his student members. "The students told me it was the best meeting we had this year," said Streuli. "Having local business owners so willing to help students is a priceless resource."

Andrews recognized the importance of this meeting for these future business leaders, and for C12. "This event gave C12 an incredible opportunity to share powerful, practical business lessons with these future leaders," said Andrews. "We were also able to introduce many of them to C12's peer-counseling model for the first time. We hope young men and women interested in business as ministry will become our future business peers and C12 partners."

Janet Ward Black Featured Speaker at "Christians in the Marketplace Conference"

Janet Ward Black, Principal of personal injury firm Ward Black Law in Greensboro, was the featured speaker at the "Christians in the Marketplace Conference" held September 10-11 at the Triad Christian Center in High Point.

She gave two speeches focused on marketplace ministry: "Fearless" and "Purchased with a Purpose."

Black has been a member of the C12 Group of the Piedmont Triad since 2005.
